Japan, Korea visits fruitful, ensured investment of Rs 200 cr: CM
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the visit to Japan and Korea were successful. He informed that they could ensure an investment of Rs 200 crore in Kerala in the first meeting held in Japan. He said this while addressing the media in Thiruvananthapuram.
The chief minister also made it clear that an agreement has been made with Toshiba for technology exchange. Toshiba will manufacture Lithium Titanium oxide battery cooperating with public sector companies. The chief minister added that some Japanese companies have already invested in Kerala and they are impressed with the atmosphere here.
The chief minister stated that the foreign visit is beneficial for health and education sectors. The journey was mainly aiming at the youth in Kerala and every meeting during the visit was held for their benefit. Higher education in international standards, skill development and job opportunities were the important topics discussed during the visit, he added.
Japan is a country that has gone ahead in small scale and medium enterprises. Also it is one of the top countries in case of technology based industries. Both these are suitable for Kerala. Attempts were made to invite such enterprises here, he said.
The government cannot ignore the development of the state. He also condemned the opposition’s allegations that foreign visits are mere leisure trips. He further said that the expense of the family members who accompanied the ministers are not spent by the government.
