Jaleel intervened in Technological University exams, Chennithala raises new allegation
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala has raised a new allegation against Higher Education Minister K T Jaleel. Chennithala alleged that Jaleel intervened in the academic matters of the Technological University.
“Minister ordered how exams should be conducted. It was not discussed in the syndicate. The Vice Chancellor implemented the minister’s order as such,” alleged Chennithala.
An order was issued by the minister modifying the question paper preparation and exam conduction of Technological University. This was not known to the syndicate or senate. Also no academic committee was aware of the modifications. Minister overruled their self-governance power and issued the order on 2018 November 18, Chennithala further said.
The order was implemented by the Vice Chancellor the very next day, the Opposition Leader claimed publishing the copies of the order issued by Jaleel.
He also attacked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in this regard. "It is mysterious why the CM is keeping mum on the matter," Chennithala said adding that a letter will be submitted to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in connection with the matter.
