Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has allocated Rs 11,551.23 crores to make drinking water available in rural areas by including them in the Jal Jeevan Mission for the year 2021-2022.
Apart from this, a sum of Rs 112 crores was also allowed to implement measures to ensure the quality of drinking water. The scheme was declared based on the recommendation of the Jal Jeevan Mission state committee.
A total of 13.99 lakh drinking water connections will be set up throughout the state. The scheme will be put in place with the help from panchayats and other beneficiaries.
