Kochi: Kerala High Court has reserved the verdict in the plea filed by actor Mohanlal in the illegal ivory possession case. Mohanlal had moved the High Court challenging the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court’s order which scrapped the Kerala government’s plea to withdraw prosecution proceedings in the respective case.

Justice A Badharudeen considered the actor’s petition.

The government informed the High Court that Mohanlal possessed ivory of a dead captive elephant and hence no laws were violated. Mohanlal’s lawyer argued that the case would not fall under the Wildlife Protection Act.
