Kochi: Actor-producer Vijay Babu was questioned in connection with the actress assault case at Ernakulam South police station here on Wednesday. During interrogation, Vijay Babu informed the police that he only had consensual sex with the actress, and alleged that the case against him is a fabricated one.
He added that no one helped him go into hiding after the incident came out. He also reiterated that the actress fabricated the case for taking revenge on him as he did n't cast her in his movies.
Meanwhile, the police cannot arrest Vijay Babu as there is a High Court order. But it is learnt that the police will oppose his anticipatory bail plea in the High Court on Thursday.
Earlier, Vijay Babu had said that he would cooperate with the investigation in the case. His reaction came after he arrived in Kochi from Dubai.
Vijay Babu arrived at Kochi International airport on Wednesday morning. Earlier, he was granted interim bail in connection to the case until Thursday.
