Thiruvananthapuram: The CBI probe team postponed recording the statement of former scientists Nambi Narayanan in connection with the ISRO espionage conspiracy case. Earlier, it was decided to record his statement on Tuesday morning at 10.30.
Nambi Narayanan was served a notice asking to appear before them for interrogation on Tuesday. However, CBI DIG Santosh Kumar Chalke failed to arrive and the CBI team directed Nambi Narayanan to come on Wednesday morning.
The high level conspiracy behind the ISRO espionage case is investigated by the CBI team from Delhi. Currently, all the investigating officers except for Santosh Kumar Chalke have examined the documents related to the case.
The CBI has included 18 people as accused including former DIG Siby Mathews, IB deputy director R B Sreekumar and others. The court has issued an interim stay on arresting Siby Mathews and P S Jayaprakash as they have filed anticipatory bail plea.
