New Delhi: Zafaryab Jilani, advocate of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, stated that Islam does not ban women from entering the mosques. He claimed that the writ petition regarding the issue was submitted in the Supreme Court due to some misunderstandings and that the Muslim Personal Law Board will file a counter affidavit on the issue.
“Islam does not ban women from entering mosques. The people who approached the court were denied entry to the mosques due to wrongful actions. No mosque denies entry to Muslim women. If someone denies entry to women, it is against Islam. Even in Mecca and Medina, there are only restriction and not bans” said Jilani.
