ISIS threat: IG G Lakshman becomes state-level coordinator
Thiruvananthapuram: State police chief Loknath Behera has conducted discussions with top-level officials in different security agencies in the backdrop of intelligence warning about IS presence on Kerala coasts. IG G Lakshman was deployed as state-level coordinator of security department to coordinate operations in the state.
The state police chief has discussed the issue with senior officials of the coastal security guard too. All IGs, district police chiefs, coastal police station officials and coastal police stations were warned to take precautionary measures.
Surveillance was made strict at centres where fishes are deposited as there are chances for the boats to be anchored there. Intelligence warning had come before a few days saying that a group of men suspected as IS terrorists moved towards Lakshadweep. Following this, naval force and coastal security guards are on high alert on Kerala coasts and Lakshadweep island.
