Kannur: An Islamic State terrorist who joined the banned outfit from Kannur has been killed in an encounter that took place in Syria in November.
Relatives of Abdul Manaf, a native of Valapattanam, received the information about his death from one of his friends Khayyum.
Abdul Manaf is an accused in a case being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Manaf, a former SDPI worker, is also an accused in a case related to the murder of CPM worker Bineesh in 2009. He is learned to be one among the Keralites who left the country for Syria to join the Islamic State.
