Kochi: Owner of ‘Safe and Strong Company’ in Thrissur, Praveen Rana, who is accused of investment fraud, escaped from police from a flat in Kaloor. According to reports, when the police reached the flat to take Rana into custody, he escaped through another lift. Police have taken into custody four of Rana’s cars from Kaloor and Thrissur.
Praveen Rana (KP Praveen) had embezzled huge amounts by offering attractive interest rates to the investors, according to the police.
At present, there are around 24 cases against him at different police stations in Thrissur. After the cases were registered, Praveen has been absconding.
Praveen first started a mobile recharge shop after completing engineering degree. Then he started to take over and run businesses that ceased operation outside Kerala. Thereafter, he started pubs in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, Rana returned to Kerala and under the pretence of his self-made stardom, started accepting investments in his company.
