Govt Medical College, Kozhikode
Kozhikode: Medical College Hospital (MCH) authorities here on Thursday cancelled the order revoking the suspension of staffers accused of intimidating a woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted in the ICU. The new order comes in the wake of the direction from the District medical office (DMO).
MCH's previous order had reinstated the accused in service. The then order said charges against the employees could not be substantiated. It also added that the suspension period will be considered duty served. The order stoked controversy and the health department had been receiving flak over it. The survivor woman lodged a police complaint over the same.
The apparent damage control measure comes at this juncture. DMO directed the MCH principal to cancel the previous order.
