Kochi: The Kerala High Court here on Thursday pronounced that interim bail granted to actor-producer Vijay Babu concerning the sexual assault case will continue. Meantime, the court will hear his anticipatory bail plea on June 7. The court also warned the actor not to try meeting the complainant or influence her.
On Wednesday, the probe team questioned Vijay Babu for 9 hours. He appeared before the probe team for further interrogation on Thursday
It is learnt that the actor refused allegations levelled against him and claimed that it is a fabricated case. He alleged that the actress was trying to take revenge on him for not casting her in his movies.
He said that he only had consensual sex with the complainant. He also produced WhatsApp chats and other messages as proof. Vijay Babu also claimed that he had given financial help to the actress on several occasions.
Vijay Babu returned to the state after Kerala High Court thwarted a move from Kerala Police to arrest him. Following this, he landed at Kochi International Airport on Wednesday.
