Intense drive to settle pending files: Kerala Govt offices function on Sunday also

Thiruvananthapuram: As a part of the efforts to clear pending files, employees at municipalities and panchayats were present in offices on Sunday as well. The health department staff also reported for duty on the holiday. Apart from the secretariat, the offices at police headquarters were also functioning.

941 grama panchayat offices, 87 municipality offices and six corporation offices were operational on July 3. A total of 33,231 and 1764 pending files were cleared in panchayats and municipal corporations respectively. Minister for Local Self Governments MV Govindan appreciated all the staff who took an effort for overtime duty.

It is learnt that 1939 files were settled in the health and medical education departments on Sunday. Health department director Dr PP Preetha informed that 1371 files in the health department directorate were cleared the other day.

2,510 staff were present in the secretariat on Sunday. The intense drive to settle pending files which started on June 15 is expected to be completed by September 30.
