Kozhikode: State Intelligence has recommended police security for BJP Kerala state president K. Surendran. SP Sukeshan has given a report in this regard to the Kozhikode city police commissioner.
It was indicated that Surendran required security in the present situation. The report, which was handed over on September 22, recommended X category security for K. Surendran. The report also sought to inform the Intelligence headquarters once security was provided to K. Surendran.
Responding to mathrubhumi.com, Kozhikode city police commissioner A. V. George IPS said that security needs to be provided but the official notice is yet to be obtained.
Meanwhile, K. Surendran said he is yet to receive any official information in this regard. “I have not received any threat. I don’t need the security of Kerala Police for the time being. I will be much safer working among the public,” he pointed out.
K. Surendran has been on the forefront of allegations against the state government in many issues including the gold smuggling case. He has been conducting press conferences on a regular basis to level allegations against the Kerala government.
It is observed that BJP’s efforts resulted in national investigating agencies cracking down in Kerala over various cases. It is in this situation that the Intelligence department recommended security for K. Surendran.
