Thiruvananthapuram: The state government on Friday extended the time frame to install surveillance cameras on route buses, including KSRTC services, till June 30. The decision in this regard was announced by Transport Minister Antony Raju.

Earlier, the government had ordered installation of cameras on stage carriage buses operating in the state by March 31. In addition to route carriages, surveillance cameras shall be made mandatory for tourist buses and those of educational institutions too.

Furthermore, the minister added that action will be taken against inter-state buses that charge high rates during festival seasons.
