Kozhikode: Indian National League is likely to reach a final decision on their candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections. INL will field their candidates in three places which the party had contested previously. However, the main focus is Kozhikode south constituency. There were suggestions earlier to field CPM candidate, but it was rejected and INL would be in fray.

The list of the candidates will be finalised at the leadership meeting to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. The candidates who are also preferred by CPM are likely to be fielded. INL will contest in Kozhikode south, Vallikkunnu and Kasaragod constituencies.

If INL is contesting in Kozhikode south, MK Muneer will be the rival candidate. Though he had expressed interest in contesting from Koduvally after rumours of CPM candidate in Kozhikode south, the Muslim League leadership has instructed him to contest from South.
