Kilimanoor: An inebriated man, in a fit of rage, killed his father over an argument over opening the door of their house. The deceased has been identified as Rajan (65), a native of Panappamkunnu, Thiruvananthapuram.

The incident took place around midnight on Wednesday. The police have arrested Rajan’s son Rajesh aka Suraj (28) in connection with the murder. As per reports, the duo got into an argument after Rajan delayed opening the door of the house.

Following this, Rajesh broke a glass tumbler, injured his father's neck and then strangled him to death. Rajan and his wife Sulochana are the residents of the house. However, Sulochana was at a relative’s house at the time of the incident.

According to the residents, the father-son duo drank regularly and engaged in fights. Rajesh, who had been living at his wife’s house, arrived at his father’s house four days back.

After killing his father, Rajesh reportedly informed the matter to a relative and then fled the place. Soon after, they informed Rajan’s wife and the Kilimanoor police.
