Tirur: The RPF picked up five kids for stopping a train waving a red dhoti. The kids went to enjoy the evening bath in a local pond. While returning, they saw the Coimbatore-Mangalore express approaching and one of them waved the cloth he was wearing at the train.

Loco pilot stopped the train and alerted the railway station master and the RPF. The kids immediately fled from the location.

The train resumed journey after five minutes.

The enquiry by the RPF found that the kids were from Niramaruthur panchayat. They were picked up by the police and handed over to Malappuram childline who counselled them.

A case will be registered if the investigation finds that their act was with ill-intentions.
