Thiruvananthapuram: Pangode police arrested a soldier on charges of creating a ruckus at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday night. The accused has been identified as Bharathannoor native Vimal Venu (30).
As per the case, Vimal attempted to manhandle a doctor and created a ruckus at a private hospital in Kallar.
The doctor advised Vimal to head to the government hospital in Palode when the latter reached the hospital in an inebriated state to treat an injury on his leg. This provoked Vimal and he attempted to manhandle the doctor after a verbal clash. Police informed that the accused showered abusive words at the hospital staff, including women and also at the cops when they arrived at the hospital after receiving a complaint.
Vimal, who was on the run after the incident, was caught from Thazham in the Konni police station limit. Vimal has been serving in the army at Tezpur in Assam.
Police have registered a case under non-bailable charges and the court remanded him in judicial custody.
