Indian army invites Malappuram youth to join force

Malappuram: Indian Army organized a fair in Malappuram due to the declining number of youth from the district. The fair, named ‘To know the army’, was organized at the MSP parade ground by the Kannur Defense Security Core Center.

The force said the various misunderstandings prevent the Malappuram youth from joining the army. Drinking liquor a must in the army is one of it. They are also apprehensive of religious divisions. The fair attempts to bring clarity into all this. Relevant informations like different army posts, eligibility criterion, salary and other allowances were discussed at the fair.



The fair was inaugurated by the Commanding General Officer of Kerala-Karnataka sub zone Major General KJ Babu. He urged the youth to take this opportunity to get to understand the army more. The parents and wives of the martyred soldiers and the soldiers who took part in the second world war were honored.

The fair was attended by Kozhikode NCC group commander Brigadier AY Rajan, Deputy Commander Colonel Babu Francis, Kannur DSC Commander Colonel Pushpender Singh Jinghan, District Police Chief and MSP Commander U Abdul Karim.
