Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) president Jayesh George and secretary Vinod S Kumar said that the association has nothing to do with the hike in ticket rates for the upcoming India - Sri Lanka ODI, scheduled to be held on Sunday.
In a press conference here on Thursday, the officials said that the ticket rates were decided after holding talks and it is the government that takes the decision on tax matters.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) sought an explanation from the KCA over the tax hike row. To which, KCA responded that the controversies were unnecessary.
“We think that the row over the ticket rate hike has come to a close. When news regarding the issue comes up in the media, it is obvious for the BCCI to seek an explanation,” KCA authorities said.
Meanwhile, the office-bearers are concerned that the controversies may adversely affect the matches in future.
