Kannur: The TDS wing of the income tax department has issued yet another notice to Vaidekam Ayurveda Healing Village summoning the manager among others to the Kannur office on Thursday. Earlier, the resort general manager had appeared before the officials on March 8 after a notice was served by the department.

The income tax department had carried out an inspection at the resort on March 2 in connection with suspicion over irregularities in the payment of tax to the TDS wing. The current notice has reportedly been served to gain clarity over certain documents recovered during the inspection.

Meanwhile, LDF convener EP Jayarajan’s wife and son have an investment of around Rs 91 lakh in Vaidekam resort. However, as the issue sparked controversy, they are reportedly planning to sell their shares.
