Kochi: Kummanode, ward number 7 of Kizhakkamabalam panchayat is witnessing a rare incident in the upcoming local body elections. Anyone who arrives here will be surprised to see the posters of LDF-independent candidate Ammini Raghavan.

The posters seeking votes by both LDF and UDF can be seen here.

“I am contesting as the LDF-independent candidate. Till date no agreement on UDF support has been made. But I have seen UDF posters seeking votes for me,” Ammini said.

The reason for this unique phenomenon is a vested interest, to defeat Twenty20, the non-political and non-religious party floated by Kitex group. PD Sreesha is fielded by Twenty20. Also, NDA candidate Anju Rajeev is also in the fray.

LDF workers also confirmed that Ammini is backed by LDF and has no agreement with UDF.

The peculiar situation in the ward has left LDF and UDF openly campaigning for Ammini.
