Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of severe rainfall in many districts in Kerala in the coming days. Yellow and Orange alerts have been issued in different districts based on the amount of rainfall expected.
Orange alerts have been issued in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on September 14 and 15.
Yellow alerts have been issued in Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on September 16 and in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on September 17.
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has instructed the public and authorities to take precautions as there are chances of flooding in low lying areas if the heavy rain continues.
The authorities have instructed the public to cooperate with them and follow COVID protocol while shifting to relief camps.
