IMD forecasts very heavy rainfall for Kerala in next 5 days; yellow, orange alerts issued

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted isolated very heavy rainfall and heavy rainfall for Kerala in the next five days.

It has also issued orange and yellow alerts for various districts.

Very heavy rainfall means a spell of 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm in 24 hours.

Heavy rainfall means 64.5 mm to 115. 5 in 24 hours.

Orange alert is for Idukki on 12-11-2022.

The yellow alerts issued are as follows:

12-11-2022: Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad

13-11-2022: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur

14-11-2022: Kollam, Pathanamthitta, , Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad
