Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Kerala for the next five days. Yellow alert has been issued in 10 districts following the prediction.

- January 7 – Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod
- January 8 - Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad
- January 10 – Pathanamthitta and Idukki
- January 11 - Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malapuram
64.5 mm to 115.5 mm rainfall is predicted in isolated places in next 24 hours.
