Thiruvananthapuram: CPM former Kannur district secretary and state committee member may file a formal complaint with the party against LDF convener EP Jayarajan over alleged illegal ownership of property in Kannur. P Jayarajan has raised allegations against EP Jayarajan in accordance with the party's decision to severely introspect party cadres to avoid corruption and misuse of power.
The state committee meeting convened on Wednesday and Thursday had discussed the rectification circular which dealt with the corruptions among party cadres during the consecutive second term of governance. During the discussion, P Jayarajan lashed out against EP Jayarajan. “Initially EP Jayarajan was the director of the Ayurveda resort. Later, his wife and son took charge as directors. EP acquired illegal properties in the name of the resort. These allegations were made with complete conviction and proof. Party should initiate a probe and take required action,” said P Jayarajan at the state committee meeting.
CPM state secretary MV Govindan, in his reply, assured action after a complaint is filed along with required documents. P Jayarajan has promised to lodge the complaint.
CPM will have to appoint a probe commission if P Jayarajan submits his complaint to the party. The state committee will have to discuss with the central leadership for further action as EP Jayarajan is a central committee member.
If EP Jayarajan is found guilty, the state committee and Politburo will examine the report and forward the central committee to take disciplinary action against him.
