Pathanamthitta: CPI has decided to probe the wealth amassment charges raised against Pathanamthitta district secretary AP Jayan. A four-member committee has been appointed for the same.

The move comes in wake of the complaint filed by CPI district panchayat member Sreenadevi. The state executive deliberated on it and decided on the probe.

Earlier, a preliminary party-level probe was evoked based on Sreenadevi’s allegations. According to Sreenadevi, Jayan demanded Rs 3 lakh for a seat in the district panchayat. She also accused Jayan started a dairy farm with illegally amassed wealth.

The commission will look into all these charges.
