Thiruvananthapuram: The 27th edition of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will be held at Thiruvananthapuram from December 9 to 16, 2022.
Since 2020, the festival could not be held in the month of December. The previous two editions of the event, hosted amidst Covid-19 restrictions, were held in February and March.
"The film festival will be held in December according to the festival calendar. The preparations have started. The Department of Cultural Affairs will host the annual edition with all its previous glory and glitz," minister V N Vasavan said.
Award categories include International films, Indian Cinema Now, Malayalam Cinema Today, World Cinema, and others. Films from only Asian, African and Latin American countries will be considered for the festival. Films that completed production or released from September 1, 2021 to 2022 August 31 will be considered. The filmmakers can submit entries from August 11, 2022 onwards.
