Idukki native who returned from Tamil Nadu dies of Covid-19

Thodupuzha: An Idukki native succumbed to Covid-19 in state on Tuesday. Narayanan (75) of Ayyappankovil tested Covid positive on Monday. He was admitted to Kottayam medical college after his health worsened. With this, the death toll in state reached 44.

According to police and health workers, Narayanan and son returned from Theni in Tamil Nadu on July 16. They had returned through a secret route and was staying at a house in the middle of their estate.

Health workers came to know about them from information provided by special branch. They objected to undergo Covid test. However, health workers forced them and collected the samples.

On Monday, their test results came out and both tested positive and were shifted to Idukki medical college. As Narayanan’s health deteriorated, he was shifted to Kottayam medical college where he passed away.
