Kozhikode: The Congress has resorted to violence in Kerala after K Sudhakaran took charge as KPCC president, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan alleged on Monday here. He was speaking to the media following the murder of SFI leader Dheeraj Rajendran in Idukki.

If this is Congress' semi-cadre system, what will be the future of Kerala? Kodiyeri asked.

The CPM politburo member condemned the murder of Dheeraj at Idukki engineering college. He accused Youth Congress of the attack. They planned the attack as they knew they would lose the college election, Kodiyeri said.

He added that Dheeraj is the 21st CPM worker killed in the last six years in Kerala. BJP, Congress and SDPI must end their violent attacks, he said.

Kodiyeri said the CPM will organise protests on Tuesday across Kerala.
