Thodupuzha: The district police chief has issued an order on Tuesday dismissing police officer Jimmy Jose, civil police officer (CPO) at Karinkunnam police station in Idukki. This action was taken after Jose failed to return to duty after his authorized leave period had ended.

According to reports, Jimmy Jose had applied for unpaid leave to visit his wife, who is employed abroad. He was granted the leave and went abroad, but was scheduled to resume his duties on January 16, 2022. However, he failed to return on the designated date.

Taking note of Jose's prolonged absence, the district police chief assigned Kaliyar inspector HL Hony to investigate the matter and submit a report. The investigation revealed that the officer was still abroad, and as a result, he was dismissed from service as a disciplinary measure.
