IB, RAW directed to charge Nambi Narayanan in ISRO spy case, says Siby Mathews

Siby Mathews, Nambi Narayanan

Thiruvananthapuram: India’s major secret investigation bodies Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) suggested charging Nambi Narayanan in the infamous ISRO spy case, said former DGP Siby Mathews in his anticipatory bail plea filed in the Thiruvananthapuram District Court.

Siby Mathews reiterated in the court that the case was not fabricated. While welcoming the new investigation, he said the 1996 report of the CBI has to be thrown in the dustbin.

While opposing the bail plea, the CBI advocate informed the court that the Jain committee report can be submitted to the court in a sealed cover. Siby Mathews had earlier rejected the conspiracy theories. We worked to protect the country, he had said.

Circle Inspector S Vijayan arrested Mariyam Rasheeda and Fousiya Hassan following the instructions from RB Sreekumar who was the then deputy director of the IB. Later, we discovered their connection to the ISRO scientists and a representative of the Russian space agency, Mathews alleged.
