'I spent Rs 25 lakh': Police question film producer in Saiby Jose bribery case

Kochi: Police questioned a film producer, who was advocate Saiby Jose Kidangoor’s client, in the case of allegedly receiving money in the name of bribing judges. A special investigation team questioned the producer, who is accused in a rape case, and his wife. The investigation team is also examining the financial deals of the producer in relation to the case.

Investigations against Saiby began after the producer revealed that he had given Rs 25 lakh to the advocate. The producer had told another advocate in the high court that he had spent Rs 25 lakh in relation to the rape case. The advocate later informed others at the court about the same which then reached the high court judge.

Currently, a special investigation team is conducting an investigation into the case. Police had earlier collected the phone call records of Saiby and his clients.
