Kozhikode: KPCC chief K Sudhkaran asserted that he can’t declare Kerala’s support to Mallikarajn Kharge in the Congress president election. He was addressing the media here on Wednesday.
The KPCC chief added Shashi Tharoor, another candidate in the Congress president election is his good friend.

“ There will be different opinions in a democratic election. I and Tharoor are good friends. I had a conversation with him this morning. I’m sure that the election will not affect our friendship. This is Congress. We are well experienced with democracy. Gandhi and Nehru were also contested in the election. It is the history of Congress,” said Sudhakaran.

He asserted that he has no right to declare Kerala’s support to Kharge.

On the other day, the KPCC chief hailed Kharge as an eminent leader in Congress and noted that he is eligible to emerge as Congress president. His statement has triggered heated discussions as Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor is also contesting the election for the post of Congress national president.
