Aroor: In a coinciding incident, a man died in the same spot where his wife had succumbed to accident injuries three months ago. The incident took place in Aroor, Alappuzha.
The deceased have been identified as Purushothaman (71), a native of Chandiroor. The accident occurred around 8.30 am on Saturday. He was soon rushed to Kottayam Medical College Hospital, but could not be saved.
Purushothaman, who was selling lotteries near Chandiroor bridge, was hit by a motorcycle while trying to grab a lottery ticket that flew away in the wind.
Purushothaman’s wife Malathi was killed in the same spot in a similar bike accident on October 20, 2022. She got hit by the vehicle while trying to cross the road.
Malathi had also died while undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
The couple is survived by their children Sreedevi, Sreeja, Sreenivasan and Sreenoop.
