Husband and his family absconding after death of differently-abled woman and daughter in TVM

Thiruvananthapuram: Weeks after a differently-abled woman named Shyama and her three-year-old daughter succumbed after a mysterious burning episode, the family of the deceased lodged a police complaint against her husband and family. Shyama’s husband Vineeth and his family are on the run since the duo succumbed to their burns at a private hospital.

It was on May 6 that the duo was found with severe burns at the house in Edayaranmula here. The mother and daughter were undergoing treatment at a private hospital but they succumbed on May 12. According to Shyama’s family, Vineeth and his family members were absconding after the death of Shyama. The family also alleged that the marriage happened six years ago and Vineeth demanded money multiple times.

A case has been filed against Vineeth and his family members. All are booked for dowry harassment charges.

Shyama’s father alleged that an unknown person helped the family members flee from the place. The person reportedly is from Andhra Pradesh. Shyama’s family members are concerned whether Vineeth and his family members will tamper with the evidence in the case.

Meanwhile, the mobile phones of Vineeth and his family members are in switched off mode. The police have initiated a probe to locate them.
