Kozhikode: The state is yet to recover from the shock of the brutal murder of a businessman in Kozhikode, more details of the chilling murder are coming out as the investigation progresses.

Culprits Shibili and Farhana had switched off their mobile phones while traveling to Chennai. However, amidst their journey, Farhana made a phone call to her close relative residing in Ottapalam via some other person's phone.

The phone call turned crucial in the case. The cops traced it and finally ended up catching the culprits.

The two trolley bags with the lifeless body of the Tirur native businessman were recovered beneath the 9th hairpin curve on Attapady ghat road last week. The body parts stuffed in bags were taken to the spot by the duo in the victim’s car on May 19. According to the duo, it was co-accused Ashik who gave the idea of dumping bags at the hairpin curve.

Shibili had finally abandoned the car in Cheruthuruthy before fleeing to Chennai.

Meanwhile, the police have been continuing the probe. After getting custody of the culprits, they were taken to the crime scenes for gathering further evidence.
