Palakkad: Police on Monday registered a case against former MLA V T Balram and five other Congress leaders for allegedly manhandlig a youth.
On Sunday, a video surfaced on social media which showed Congress MP Ramya Haridas, Balram and other leaders sitting at a hotel for lunch violating lockdown restrictions in Palakkad. Palakkad native Sanoob recorded the video.
Raging Congress workers approaching the cameraperson can be seen in the video.
The Congress leaders arrived at a hotel in Chandra Nagar for having lunch around 2 pm on Sunday. Dining at hotels is restricted in places where complete lockdown is imposed.
Meanwhile, MP Ramya Haridas ruled out the allegations. She explained that the visuals were captured when they were waiting for the parcel. She also said that the youth attacked her which led to scuffle.
