Home quarantine facility to be stopped in Kuttanad in view of flood
Alappuzha: Considering the IMD prediction of extremely heavy rain in the state, Alappuzha district administration has decided to stop home quarantine in Kuttanad which is a flood prone area. Those who return from abroad and other states will not be allowed to stay in home quarantine from now on.
Collector A Alexandar directed in a meeting of the disaster management authority held on Wednesday to strictly implement this rule. The people who come to Kuttanad from outside the state should inform the local bodies in advance. The district administration will arrange quarantine facility for them.
The fluid test of the people who are under home quarantine in Kuttanad at present will be completed shortly. Those who test positive for COVID-19 will be shifted to First-Line Treatment Centres. The restrictions in Kuttanad will be made stricter and the people should exercise caution, the collector said.
