High range- Malabar bus

Kattappana: ‘Holy Family’ put an end to its two-and-a-half-decades-long stage carriage bus service as KSRTC took up the long route services which cover over 140 kilometres. The bus service named ‘High range- Malabar Night Express' was launched in the end of 1990s, connecting Kattappana and the hilly areas of Kannur.

The presence of farmers migrated from Meenachil and Kanjirapally in Kannur have urged the commencement of a bus service connecting the hill range and Malabar. The bus service turned a huge hit when the passengers of both the end wholeheartedly received it.

Two buses were deployed in this bus route which extends over 450 kilometres. The bus that commenced service from Kattappana stand at 6.30 pm reached Sreekandapuram in Kannur at 7 am. The other bus started service from Sreekandapuram to Kattappana at the same time. The residents of Malabar and high range used the bus to dispatch their parcels.
