Heavy rains: Holiday for educational institutions in Ernakulam, Kottayam districts, Kuttanad taluk

Kochi: Educational institutions will remain shut in Ernakulam and Kottayam districts on Wednesday. The district collectors declared holiday for the schools, colleges and anganwadis after south west monsoon rains intensified.

Ernakulam district collector informed that a holiday has been declared for all educational instutions including professional colleges, Kendriya Vidyalas and Anganwadis.

In Kottayam, the district collector declared that all educational instituions including anganwadis and professional colleges will remain shut on Wednesday. Meanwhile, there will be no changes in the university exams.

Educational institutions in Kuttanad taluk of Alappuzha will also remain closed on Wednesday.

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted that heavy rains will continue in Kerala till September 3. All districts have been placed under yellow alert on Wednesday.
