Holiday declared for schools in 4 districts

Kozhikode: In the wake of unabating rains lashing the state, a holiday has been declared for all educational institutions, including professional colleges in Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Palakkad and Wayanad districts.

Idukki district collector has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in the district, including Thodupuzha taluk which was exempted earlier.

In Kottayaam district, holiday has been declared for educational institutions upto higher secondary in Kanjirappally and Meenachil taluk.

In Thrissur, all educational institutions except professional colleges will remain shut. The schools housing rehabilitation centres would also remain shut.

Ernakulam district collector has informed that all educational institutions including professional colleges at Kothamangalam, Kunnathunad, Aluva, Paravur Taluk and Kadamakkudy will remain closed on Friday. The holiday applies to schools of State board, ICSE, ISE, CBSE, Central Schools and anganwadis.

In Kannur district, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in Iritty and Talipparamba taluks.

In Kozhikode, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in sub-districts of Nadapuram, Kunnummal, Perambra, Balussery, Mukkam and Kunnamangalam.

In Malappuram district, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions, excluding professional colleges, in Nilambur taluk on Friday. The holiday will also be appicable for five panchayats in Eranad Taluk (Edavanna, Urangattiri, Areekode, Keezhumparamba, Pandikkad) and four panchayats in Kondotty taluk ( Vazhakkad, Vazhoor, Muthuvalloor and Cheekkode). However, there is no change for scheduled exams here.

Mahatma Gandhi University and Kannur University have postponed all exams scheduled for Friday.

Kerala Health Science University has also postponed all exams (regular/supplementary) scheduled for Friday except the BSMS supplementary exams. There is no change for Friday’s practical exams.

All India Trade Test (AITT) scheduled to be conducted on Friday and Saturday in Palakkad, Wayanad, Ernakulam and Idukki districts have been postponed.

New dates for the postponed exams will be notified later.
