Ollur: Ponnukkara village in Thrissur is waiting for the final homecoming of JWO A Pradeep who was killed in the helicopter crash in Coonoor.
It was informed that his body would reach the Sulur Air Force Station near Coimbatore by Saturday and that it would be taken to his native place in Thrissur on the same day. It is not clear whether the cremation will take place on Saturday.
Pradeep’s wife and his two children had been brought to his house in Ponnukkara on Thursday night itself. Pradeep’s brother Prasad who had set off to Coimbatore on hearing about the accident also returned with them.
Pradeep’s father Radhakrishnan is on ventilator support at his home and has not been told about his son’s demise. His mother Kumari is waiting to see her son for one last time.
Pradeep’s body will be kept for public homage at Puthur Government School. The cremation will be held at his house in Ponnukkara with full military honours.
