Held talks several times; Tariq Anwar rejects K Sudhakaran's statement
Kannur: Congress High Command has rejected K Sudhakaran who expressed dissatisfaction over candidate selection. AICC general secretary Tariq Anwar, who is in charge of Kerala, said that they had held discussions with K Sudhakaran several times.
The screening committee and state election committee had sought Sudhakaran’s opinion. These matters were discussed with not only Sudhakaran, but all other MPs, Tariq Anwar said.
We tried our best to include maximum number of women in the candidate list. But chance of victory is more important. The local leadership is talking with all who expected candidature. We hope to resolve the issues, he said.
Tariq Anwar stated that the candidate list is unlikely to be changed though protests arise regarding it. We will examine how to consider those who were denied seats this time. However, UDF will gain majority and form government in Kerala, he added.
