Heavy rains to lash Kerala until Saturday: yellow alert in 9 districts
Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that Kerala will receive heavy rainfall until Saturday. IMD alerted that isolated places in the state will receive from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rainfall within the next 24 hours.
As per the IMD forecast, yellow alert has been sounded in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Malappuram, Kollam and Idukki districts.

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) warned people residing in areas prone to landslide and mudslide to remain alert. People living close to river banks and coastal areas have been directed to stay vigilant.
Fisherfolk have been advised not to venture into the sea in Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts due to the bad weather conditions. Turbulent weather with wind speeds reaching 45-55 km is likely to prevail along and off the south Maharashtra coast till June 18, alerted the IMD.
