Heavy rains to lash Kerala till May 18 ; IMD sounds red alert in Ernakulam, Idukki

Thiruvananthapuram: India Meteorological department forecasted heavy rains in the southern and middle parts of Kerala on Saturday.

A red alert was sounded in Ernakulam and Idukki district on Saturday. Extremely Heavy rainfall can be expected here. An orange alert was issued in Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Kollam districts. Meanwhile, IMD sounded a yellow alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kozhikode districts.

Additionally, IMD has issued red, orange, and yellow alerts for the next five days in the state.
