Kozhikode: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in the coming days and an orange alert has been issued in various districts.
Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki districts will witness heavy rainfall on June 26. Kozhikode and Wayanad districts will receive heavy rains on June 27. Orange alert has been sounded in these districts on the respective days.
IMD has predicted heavy rainfall of up to 204 mm in 24 hours. IMD and Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) have asked people to exercise caution in the coming days.
Also, yellow alert has been sounded in 11 districts including Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Malappuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki.
