Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall in Kerala in the next five days with the onset of the northeast monsoon. As per the alert, a cyclonic circulation lies over the southeast Bay of Bengal. Because of this Kerala will receive heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorm on Sunday, November 6. Rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is expected in these districts.

Though a yellow alert is sounded, fishermen are allowed to venture into the sea on Sunday.

“Squally weather (wind speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) likely to prevail over Southwest and adjoining Southeast & Westcentral Bay of Bengal,” reads the IMD alert.

On Sunday, IMD forecasted that low pressure will form over the southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka coast on Wednesday.
