Heavy rains to continue in Kerala, IMD sounds yellow alert for 11 districts on Sunday, Monday

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Metrological Department has forecasted that heavy rains will continue to lash across Kerala till Wednesday. A yellow alert has been sounded for several districts from Sunday to Wednesday. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea during this period.

Heavy rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is expected in the districts which are placed under yellow alert.

10/7/2022 – Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod

11/7/2022 – Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod

12/7/2022 – Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod

13/7/2022 -Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod

The Kerala Disaster Management Authority has urged the people residing in low-lying areas, river banks, and areas prone to landslides and mudslides to exercise extreme caution.
